A fresh and different coaching experience.

Today is June 1st.  I so love the beginning of a new month. I love turning the page of the calendar; justifying the purchase of a new, very clean journal. I even love making promises to do this or stop  that even if I have made the same promises for the past twelve months and failed.  I love the power of forgiveness and leaving the past  behind me.
I love new beginnings. I am grateful to have been given more than my fair share.

There is just something so compelling about do overs.

They are, to me, the power of freedom. Second chances. …even third, fourth chances or as many as it takes….

But, I will admit that the older I get living free is much tougher than it appears. It is quite literally, battling against  old , private regimes long used to having power over my every thought and belief. And those regimes do not give up easily.

But, today is June 1st. A new month. A new day.

And hope is on the rise.

Living free is the heartbeat of a coaching relationship. It is the safe, honest bunker of the battlefield where one can name the true foe, eliminate that foe, and begin to live as victor. But it is hard work. It helps to have a guide. It is impossible to do apart from honest love  and respect. For yourself.

But, today….my flag flies high reminding me that the very best things in life are not free. They come with a cost.

A friend once said to me if I want to live the life I most desire that life will be:

1. Different than expected

2. Harder than expected

3. Better than expected

I have learned she was right.

So, on this first day of the month….this entry into summer….shall we band together to choose to “let freedom do a whole lot more than simply ring?”

It is worth the cost…..

Definitely worth the cost! One of my spiritual guides slipped into heaven early early this morning….in my AM readings about the Fruit of the Spirit (which characterized Nannie so well) the comment was made that if we want the fruit to grow in us we must join our life to His…we must: know Him – love Him – remember Him – imitate Him….Nannie to a “T”. Her life was different, harder, and better than she expected and a guide for the rest of us to follow….June 1st is a day for new beginnings….Nannie’s new life with Christ and my simple life turning a new page….thank you for helping to show the way…hope is on the rise….amen and amen and amen!
